What does your insurance cover?
Our tuk-tuks come with all-inclusive insurance that covers damage to the tuk-tuk and other vehicles. It also includes personal injury protection for you, your passengers, and third parties. However, we recommend obtaining your own travel insurance to cover specific scenarios such as medical evacuation to your home country, as this is not covered under our policy.
Can I drop the tuk-tuk off at a different location?
Yes! Simply let us know at least two days before your drop-off date, and we’ll arrange for a driver to pick it up at your hotel. Please note that additional location charges may apply.
Can I pick up the tuk-tuk from a different location?
Absolutely! One of our instructors will deliver your tuk-tuk, along with the necessary documentation and license, to your specified pick-up location. We’ll also give you a driving lesson to ensure you’re comfortable on the road.
Why are the prices different for rentals under four days?
Our rates vary based on rental duration—the longer you book, the more affordable the daily rate becomes. Short-term rentals incur slightly higher charges as they offer limited value to our tuk-tuk owners.
What happens if my tuk-tuk is stolen?
Though tuk-tuk theft is rare in Sri Lanka, our insurance covers theft, provided it wasn’t stolen using your set of keys.
What if my accessories are stolen?
If any accessories are lost or stolen, we may request that you cover the replacement cost. Most items aren’t highly valuable, but the tuk-tuk’s documents, for example, carry a US$90 replacement fee.
Do I need to pay in advance to secure my booking?
Following our social business model, we require payment confirmation from one of our local suppliers to secure your tuk-tuk.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes! We accept secure payments via credit card and PayPal. If you choose to pay with PayPal, select 'Pay by Credit Card' on the PayPal payment page. Please note that availability may vary by country.
Can I extend my rental period after I’ve picked up the tuk-tuk?
Of course! If you’d like to extend your trip, let us know at least 24 hours before your original return date. Extensions are subject to availability.
Are there fees for late returns?
Yes, late returns may incur additional charges. If you anticipate a delay, please contact us to arrange a new return time.
